Playing up to Minors

Blah Blah Blah

Clothing

All players need to have their own plain grey baseball pants (no stripes or ribbing, please).

Each player will receive a hat, long-sleeved practice shirt, and socks — theirs to keep.

Team jerseys will be distributed and must be returned at the end of the season. If you do not return your jersey at the end of season, you will be responsible for a $50 payment.

Equipment

Players need their own glovebatting helmet, and rubber cleats. *parents are strongly encouraged to have their own helmet.

They must also wear pelvic protection (a “jock” or “jill”) to every practice and game.

Team bats are supplied. Players may purchase and use their own bat as long as it has the USA Baseball logo indicating it’s approved Little League. Bats without this logo will not be permitted!

How are teams selected?

Players league age 9 – 12 are assessed by coaches at the Oak Bay Rec centre at he end of February in an effort to balance ability across teams and ensure player safety. Following the assessments players are drafted by coaches.

We have been working on opportunities for our coaches and parents to learn and gain more tools to help our young athletes get better everyday. Al Mauthe, a former baseball Olympian, College World Series, and 2 time Boston Red Sox World Series Champion has offered to join our organization! Al has worked with many Little League baseball clubs and has trained and taken them all the way to the Little League World Series. He, and his program also help players develop from all age and skill levels to achieve their goal of getting college scholarships. We will be holding a coaches clinic where Al will be teaching where to start with basic hitting mechanics and establishing language that we will all be using throughout our programs starting at the tee ball level. This program will become part of our Beacon Hill coaching certification program and ongoing training for all of our coaches. Everyone who plans on being a part of Beacon Hill in the coming seasons and coaching our kids on the field or at home are strongly encouraged to attend this introduction clinic and be up to date on how to properly train your players how to hit big! At Beacon Hill Baseball, our community is built on the time, energy, and heart of our parent volunteers. From coaching and scorekeeping to organizing events and helping on the sidelines, every role you take on makes a direct impact on our players’ experiences — and their memories. When parents volunteer, kids feel it. They feel supported. They feel proud. They feel connected — not just to the game, but to a community that shows up for them. Beacon Hill Baseball isn’t just about learning to hit, catch, and throw. It’s about building confidence, teamwork, and friendships — and none of that happens without you. Whether you’re coaching a team, handing out snacks, helping set up the field, or simply cheering a little louder from the stands, you are making a difference. Thank you for being part of something bigger. ⚾🙌 We’re always looking for more helping hands! If you’d like to get involved, stay tuned for volunteer opportunities coming soon. #BeaconHillBaseball #ThankYouVolunteers #CommunityStrong #PlayBall

Coaches are the heart of our league — and we’re always excited to welcome new volunteers to the team! Whether you’ve coached before or are brand new to baseball, we’ll support you every step of the way. Here’s how to get started: Sign Up: Visit our registration page to express your interest in coaching.
